Hazrat Peer Syed Jamat Ali, Shah-e-Lasani (R.A.)

Hazrat Peer Syed Jamat Ali Shah Sahib (R.A.) was born on Friday in August 1860 in a well living family of Ali Pur. His father, Hazrat Ali Shah (R.A.) paid special heed on education since his childhood. Hazrat Peer Syed Jamat Ali Shah (R.A.) preferred farming to playing. He always used to stand by his serfs.
He got his earlier education in Ali Pur Sharif. He got knowledge related to the Holy Quran, Fiqh, Mysticisms (Tasawuf) from Moulana Abdul U Rasheed (R.A). He joined the company of Khawaja Shams- U-Din, Hazrat Mirza Sikandar Baig and other Sufis in his boyhood. Afterwards, he became disciple of Hazrat Khawaja Faqeer Muhammad Chorahi (R.A.).
Peer Syed Jamat Ali Shah (R.A.) strived for the proliferation of Islam. Having inspired from his teachings of Islam with courteous ways, thousands of Non-Muslims of Sub-Continent embraced Islam. His Sheikh honoured him with the title Lassni with his name which is spoken even today after his death. He performed Hajj in 1938. Later, he visited the sanctuaries of Hazrat Mujadad Alf-e- Sani (R.A), Hazrat Bu Ali Qalandar (R.A), Hazrat Bakhtiar Kaki (R.A), Hazrat Niam Ul Din Oliya (R.A) and Hazrat Mueenuddin Chisti (R.A.).

Hazrat Syed Jamat Ali Shah (R.A), Shah-e-Lassani never coveted for top-notch life; he believed in simplicity and promoted it for good. Shah-e-Lassani (R.A.) had impressive disposition and used to put on simple attire and preferred vegetables to sumptuous and extravagant feasts.

After an ephemeral ailment, Peer Syed Jamat Ali Shah (R.A.) died while pronouncing the name of Allah at 9 O’ Clock on October 2, 1939. All the devotees and disciples’ congregated at Ali Pur Syedan to hear a bolt from the blue. Peer Syed Jamat Ali Shah (R.A.) had three sons, Syed Fida Husain Shah, Syed Khadim Husain Shah and Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah (R.A.) who all died amid in the life time of Peer Syed Jamat Ali Shah Sahib (R.A). Accordingly, Peer Syed Jamat Ali Shah (R.A) appointed his grandson: Syed Ali Husain Shah Sahib (R. A) as his descendant.
